Our Work

The scope of TCI’s programs reflect the reality, scale, and ever-evolving nature of the issues that children, youth, and their families face within Tondo’s communities.

As a primary intervention, TCI is focused on managing and stabilizing the immediate and chronic crises faced by the children and their families.  We then apply a systemic approach by collaborating with other civil society organizations and government agencies to facilitate the community members’ access to key services such as education, healthcare, and other opportunities.

TCI's work is divided into two main areas: "Crisis Management" and "Future Team."

Crisis Management

In the area of Crisis Management, the team is organized into three main units. The Outreach Social Work Unit focuses on assessing cases before they are referred to specialists—either to the unit that handles sexual abuse cases or to the unit that addresses abandoned or neglected cases. Our goal is to stabilize situations, ensure the safety of victims and at-risk children, and work towards long-term solutions.

Future Team

The Future Team is dedicated to building opportunities. We aim to ensure that children, youth, and families have access to the same services provided by the government. This includes services such as obtaining birth certificates, accessing education (whether tutorial or help with enrollment), medical programs through the clinic, mobilizing the community (involving the women's forum and the youth), and housing, among others.
