“I had an unforgettable experience with the Tondo Community Initiative, where I

learned how to work with people who have different issues. It was difficult for me to get to know the community on my first visit; it seemed like a maze with plenty of little alleys housing many houses and people passing by. The community also seems to be celebrating fiestas or parties all the time. However, over time, I became acquainted with the community…  

 

I consider it a blessing to be a part of the TCI family because every member of staff treats you with the same warmth and compassion. We had a positive relationship that extended into the community with my agency supervisor. Several children would give me hugs and greetings when I perform home visits. The mothers who welcome me with food and say "maam tara kain po" and "good morning po" when I visit the community also made me feel important.”
